TrackMaster® Picture Hangers are designed to avoid the many problems associated with ‘old fashioned’ ‘hook and wire’ hanging systems. They make installations go more quickly and they result in straight and secure hangings every time.
These improvements are accomplished by replacing the unstable hooks and wires that are difficult to attach to frames, with a stable, self-leveling, two-point support-track system which is firmly attached to the wall. Designed specifically to be nailed to sheet rock walls, TrackMaster® Picture Hangers employ countersunk holes that make it possible to use them with screws, or screws and anchors, on virtually any flat wall surface. The following descriptions and instructions for the various models of TrackMaster® Picture Hangers demonstrate how these products are superior to other picture hanging alternatives that attempt to solve hooks and wires problems:
METAL FRAMES APPLICATIONSWhen used with metal frames, nothing need be placed on the frame itself. The TrackMaster® hanger’s integral support track fills the cross-sectional void of the frame’s universal assembly channel – effectively ‘locking’ the frame onto the support-track of the hanger.
To install a metal frame on its hanger, hold it at a 45 degree angle and place the top of the frame’s assembly channel over the support track of the hanger. The frame is then lowered to the wall. Conversely, to remove the frame from the hanger, simply pull the bottom of the frame to a 45 degree angle and lift it off the hanger.
This feature insures the frame cannot be accidentally bumped off the hanger and serves to keep the frame straight and level. Should the frame become dislocated, it is a simple matter to slide the frame along its support-track to its original position. TrackMaster hangers stay where they’re put and provide positive control over picture positioning!
Bottom rail supports are supplied with each hanger to provide additional support for larger, heavier frames. They also serve to keep the frame exactly where it’s wanted. In cases where absolutely no risk of metal-frame dislocation can be tolerated, one or more FRAMESECURE® security locks can be used on the bottom or sides of the frame to further anchor it to the wall.
Various combinations of TrackMaster® hangers, bottom rail supports and FRAMESECURE® locks can be particularly useful in unguarded public buildings, offices, children’s rooms or as guards against possible earthquake or sonic boom damage wherever those events are problems. WOODEN FRAME APPLICATIONSWhen used with wooden frames, TrackMaster® wood-frame adapters are attached to the backs of the frames. The wood-frame adapter, centered on the reverse of the frame’s top member, has an extension that engages a mating-slot behind the support-track of the TrackMaster® hanger. When the adapter’s extension is engaged in the mating-slot of the hanger, the frame can be moved from side-to-side for proper positioning. As long as the extension is in the mating slot the frame will be level.
TrackMaster® has developed its own ‘Impact-Latch’ wooden-frame security system that is designed to take advantage of the TrackMaster® hangers’ inherent design geometry. Impact latches are much simpler to install than other ‘keyed’ security systems and require no complicated measurements or templates. SOME OTHER INTERESTING STUFFTrackMaster® Picture Hangers are universal in application. They can be attached to any flat wall surface, with or without security, take only a minute or two to install, and require only tools normally found in the home.
TrackMaster® frame hanging systems are very inexpensive considering their engineered utility and the designed protection they provide.
Fine art cannot really be ‘insured’ in the usual sense of the word. Once fine art is damaged or destroyed it can seldom be repaired or replaced. The few dollars spent on TrackMaster® hanging systems may be worth considerably more than the hundreds of dollars spent on insurance policies, if the artifacts they secure and protect are ‘one-of-a-kind.’ Many of our customers use the wood frame hangers for unique applications such as hanging mirrors, bed boards and other articles that need to be hung straight and secure.
